A Love Story That Started With a Message

It all started when a girl got the confidence to message a boy on a dating app. 😂 With nothing to lose, the two began chatting and getting to know each other from the 22nd of August 2022.

With Kiri preparing for a girls’ holiday, there was a bit of a race to fit in a first date before she jetted off. After a few false starts thanks to Robert’s busy schedule, plans finally fell into place — they met outside Central Station on the 10th of September 2022, just two days before Kiri’s flight. The date began with a cheeky visit to Wetherspoon’s and lasted the whole night staying up chatting and having a good time before parting ways with a goodbye kiss

Even while Kiri was away in Greece, their connection didn’t waver. They kept chatting, planning their next date — but they didn’t wait long to take the leap. After Kiri had a delayed flight and Robert had  a hangover KFC from a party the night before, the two decided to make it official. On the 18th of September, Robert and Kiri became a couple

Adventures & Milestones

Fast forward to 8th October, when the pair joined one of Robert’s friends on a mystery tour — which landed them in Aberdeen. The trip was pure chaos and laughter (if you know, you know!) and unforgettable memories were made: from nearly missing the bus to Robert gifting Kiri an adorable Highland cow teddy

That Christmas, they celebrated together around Robert’s birthday with a cosy little festive night in Kilmarnock at the pairs most cherished hotel. Then came Valentine’s Day, marked by a light-up rose, a donut cushion, and deepening love with every little moment shared

In summer 2023, Robert bought his first house! With the support of Kiri and some close family, they transformed it into a proper home. Despite a broken boiler, a blow-up mattress, and a wonky fridge — they made it work.

With Robert now settled in, Kiri could spend more time with him. After she passed her driving test they started venturing on little sightseeing trips, including a visit to Dean Castle… which was cut hilariously short thanks to a group of geese chasing them and having to retreat to a safe spot far away

As 2023 came to an end, the couple balanced work and college, it was time to decorate Roberts new space with Christmas trees, candles, and fairy lights, Kiri’s favourite time of year. The pair took the time to relax and dreamed of many more shared holidays to come

A Proposal to Remember

With a rough start to 2024 for Kiri she started spending more time in Kilmarnock for the comfort of the man she loves. Robert fell more and more for the cutie that was always around keeping his little house in check so wanted to show this woman how much he loved and appreciated her. On the 14^th February (after kiri got off a call with her union rep) Robert got down on one knee in the little house they were making a home and asked Kiri to marry him!

She said yes obviously!

From there, wedding plans began, and their future started taking shape. In March, for Kiri’s birthday, they spent a weekend in Edinburgh — even though poor Robert was unwell, he pushed through to make the day special. Despite crashing out early, Kiri appreciated his love and effort deeply

New Beginnings

By May 2024, Kiri officially moved to Kilmarnock, got a job, and the couple enjoyed a pottery-painting weekend away. With her HND course underway and Robert advancing in his career, they celebrated their second anniversary in September with fancy cocktails — and Kiri wore the dress from their very first date

Living together brought new discoveries: like how loud Kiri sings with her headphones in, and how Robert’s dressing gown mysteriously rotates across various floors. But they also found joy in the little things — like Kiri’s sweet gestures and Robert’s habit of making her a cup of tea after work.

Traditions, Birthdays & Big Plans

They celebrated their third Christmas — and first as an official cohabiting couple — under one roof, making time for both their beloved families. In 2025, Kiri turned 30, and her only birthday wish was for a cake… but ended up with three! Robert, with the help of her family, threw her an unforgettable party that she’ll cherish forever

With wedding planning in full swing, Kiri completing her HND, and Robert earning his trainer accreditation, the couple are growing stronger — side by side.

And as they look ahead to 14th March 2026, the day they’ll become Mr. and Mrs. Fulton, they’re excited to celebrate surrounded by the friends and family who’ve supported them along the way
